Troy, NY. The Generals took the field in 97 degree weather and outplayed the Vikings, but won only by the narrow score of 3-2. (more)



Shannon Mitchell
Shannon Mitchell (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen HS) maintains a 3.5 GPA and is a first year lacrosse player. She has 15 caused turnovers, demonstrating her tremendous ability to read passes and movement of her opponents. When asked about Mitchell, head coach Dianna Ste-Marie said, “Shannon provides this team with the motivation they need to be successful. She plays with her heart and gives 100 percent every game. This is especially amazing for a first year player.” Mitchell is a soccer player and decided to try out for the lacrosse team this year. “Shannon picked up the game like she has been playing for years. I am extremely proud of Shannon and all she does for this team, both physically and mentally.”
George Hajjar
George Hajjar (Utica, NY/Whitesboro HS), an honors student, has helped lead the baseball team to a national ranking. He has taken control of the outfield and worked his way to the top of the lineup in 2010. Hajjar is hitting .456 with 5 doubles, 3 homeruns and leads the team in runs batted in with 25. Head coach Jason Rathbun says, “George exemplifies the meaning of student-athlete and I am glad all the hard work he has put in has paid off for him early this season. He is a great representative of the Herkimer baseball program in the local community.”
