Baseball sweeps second straight doubleheader Monday

AUBURNDALE, FL – Collecting 28 hits and 29 runs in 12 innings against regional foe Genesee Community College on Monday (3/15), the #3 Herkimer Generals baseball team increased their current win streak to four games.

Others to join with RBI were Joseph Foran (Fort Ann, NY), Petar Rumora (Palisades Park, NJ), Anthony Yezzo Jr. (Rotterdam, NY), Christian Malave (Milford, CT) and Justin Kiesow (Frankfort, NY).

Getting the win in game one was Jack Jones (College Grove, TN). The freshman was one of four pitchers used in the game, watching Jones get his first win of the season, allowing only one hit in two innings of work.

As for game two, it was shortened to a five inning contest because of 10-run rule. Novenche went 4-for-4, Kiesow went 3-for-4, Dorrian went 3-for-4 and Malave went 3-for-3. Kiesow and Dorrian led the team with three runs batted in each, then Malave, Mike Bastis (South Windsor, CT) and Brandon Hubbard (Potomac, MD) each had two each.
