Generals remain undefeated against Mid State Conference Monday

AUBURN, NY – Playing their fourth game in the matter of a week, the Herkimer Generals men’s basketball team went to Cayuga Community College Monday (1/19) and handed the Spartans a 10-point loss 71-61, winning their sixth straight game against Mid State Athletic competition.

Herkimer (15-2, 7-1) had strong games from both Ken Woodard (Bronx, NY) and Carson Murphy (Mohawk, NY), seeing both players come close to double doubles. They combined for 33, with Woodard scoring 21 and Murphy scoring 12 and Woodard grabbing nine rebounds and Murphy collecting seven.

The other two Generals to score in double figures were Daniel Owens (Albany, NY) and Dantre Langhorne (Greenport, NY). Following them was Jallah Tarver (Schenectady, NY) with eight, Jamell Johnson (Rochester, NY) with six and Julio Galay (Bronx, NY) and Felix Riascos (Poughkeepsie, NY) with two.

Herkimer will look to win their fifth consecutive game on Wednesday (1/21) against North Country. The Saints are 3-1 in their last four, and the seventh best team in the region. Tipoff tomorrow is scheduled for 6 p.m.
