HERKIMER, NY – Playing in their third home game of the season on Saturday (3/26) at Wehrum Stadium, the Herkimer Generals men’s lacrosse team netted a season-high 22 goals against conference rival Mohawk Valley to defeat the Hawks in regulation 22-3.

Herkimer (3-2) never trailed in the game, briefly tying with the Hawks three minutes in until Cavanagh Rigby (Bexley, OH), Jeramiah Robinson (Johnstown, NY) and Ryan Fischer (Monroe, NY) helped the Generals net four unanswered goals in the final 11 minutes of the first to lead 5-1. Robinson and Rigby finished the game with five and four goals, both season-highs, while Fischer complied his second hat trick of the season. The sophomore also assisted on four goals in the game which was a season-high.

It got to a 10-goal lead (12-2) at half after Herkimer ripped off 10 unanswered goals before Preston Travis from Mohawk Valley could stop the General attack. Getting in the mix during the second quarter was James Redpath II (Rome, NY) and Justin Flint (Endicott, NY). Redpath finished the game with two goals and two assists, and Flint got his second hat trick of the season by the third quarter, also finishing with two assists.

The team netted their lowest amount of goals in the third (three), but made up for it in the fourth, scoring seven more to finish the game with eight unanswered. Four of the goals were assisted – one from Fischer, Robinson, Redpath III and Jon Wilkins (Norwalk, CT) – and the other four unassisted goals came from Wilkins, Ryan Zimmerman (Irondequoit, NY) and Rigby.
