Win streak snapped at home Wednesday against Tribunes

(Ryan Fischer had three goals against the Tribunes on Wednesday, accumulating his sixth hat trick of the season).

(James Redpath III has two goals and two assists against Monroe on Wednesday, now at 20 goals this season).

HERKIMER, NY – Coming into Wednesday’s (4/20) game against Monroe Community College, the Herkimer Generals men’s lacrosse team had won their last three home games. After 60 minutes of play at Wehrum Stadium, Monroe snapped that win streak, winning 10-9 in regulation.

Herkimer (5-6) in now 1-3 in one goal games this season, losing to Finger Lakes 10-9 at home and Jefferson 8-7 on the road. It didn’t look like it would end up that way leading 2-0 early after goals by Cavanagh Rigby (Bexley, OH) and Ryan Fischer (Monroe, NY), but six unanswered goals by the Tribunes helped them to a 6-2 lead with 9:36 left in the first half.

Herkimer answered with four unanswered of their own into the third, two from James Redpath III (Rome, NY) and one each for Fischer and Rigby, helping tie the game at 6-6 with 12:19 left in the third – but the Tribunes outscored the Generals 4-to-3 throughout the rest of the contest.

Helping keep it close in goal was Charles Rosaschi (Highland Mills, NY). The collected his eighth double digit save total, finishing Wednesday with 14 saves.
