Generals Win 3-2 Over Broome

Herkimer, NY – Herkimer sophomore Gus Ward (London, England) scored in the 20th minute off a beautiful pass from sophomore Luke Murphy (Glasgow, Scotland).  Murphy beat his defender on the outside of the right penalty area and served the ball to Ward on the back post for the first time finish.  Broome’s Brian Clark tied the game in the 26thminute of a corner kick from Damien Rutan.  The Hornets struck again in the 47th minute on a turnover in the midfield.  Ismar Turkovic capitalized on the mistake and scored on sophomore goalkeeper Roandre Wollery (Hartford, Conn).  Generals freshman Marvin Tapia (Manassas, Virginia) tied the game at 2-2 off of a header in the 71st minute off a serve from Ward.  Murphy scored the game winner in the 87th minute where he converted a penalty kick that was given for a hand ball in the penalty area.  Roandre Wollery finished the day with three saves.
 
The Generals are back on the road where they will take on Corning CC.  Kick of is at 1:00pm.
