Men’s soccer loses on the road to conference opponent

HERKIMER, NY – Riding into Wednesday (9/9) game on a high note after winning their last three games, the #2 Herkimer Generals men’s soccer team was unable to keep the streak alive on the road against SUNY Adirondack, losing to the Timberwolves 3-2 in overtime.

Herkimer (3-2, 0-1) fell down early to the Timberwolves, surrendering goals in the 2nd and 19th minute. Answering for the team was Femi Kaffo (London, England) and Eddie Speed (Chester, Liverpool) in the 25th and 44th, knotting the game at two apiece going into intermission.

The second half saw neither team score, netting overtime to decide the Mountain Valley Conference match up. SUNY Adirondack got the game-winner to stay undefeated, while the loss was Herkimer’s second of the season.

The Generals will return home to face another conference opponent this coming Saturday (9/12) at Wehrum Stadium. That opponent is Fulton-Montgomery. The Raiders are winless this season. Game time on Saturday is scheduled for 1 p.m.
