Herkimer bowlers among best at Adirondack
Queensbury, NY – HCCC’s bowling teams had one of their best meets ever on Wednesday at SUNY Adirondack. The women finished the day in first place and the men earned a second-place finish.
The Women’s team, led by Maripat McNally’s 619 series, came away with the victory for the first time this season. Ashley Marthage followed with a 573 series, and Sara Edenhofer rolled her way to a 567.

The men were equally impressive as they stormed out to an early lead after the first game, in which they hammered their way to a 1248 total. They followed that up with an impressive second game, rolling 1104. At that point, the Generals were poised to win their first-ever Mountain Valley Conference match. They headed into the third and final game up 160 pins on perennial national power Hudson Valley. But the Vikings came all the way back in an impressive final game, while Herkimer managed just a 1030 finish, HVCC beat the Generals by 56 pins in the end.
Herkimer was led by Anthony DiPierro’s 690 series, followed by Jason Kime (648), Brett Risi (673), Matt Marrotta (664) and Tony DeLuca (648). Brandon Lovell (591) and Andrew Pomichter (578) also had good showings. Sergio Dudin also rolled his high single of the season with a 204.

Generals will be back in action this Friday at 3 pm when they travel to MVCC
