Herkimer keglers bowl well at Hudson Valley

Troy, NY – Both the men’s and women’s bowling teams made good showings in the conference meet at Hudson Valley on Thursday.  Both teams finished in third place.

The women’s team had a great opportunity to come away with their first win of the season before stumbling a little in the final game, allowing Mohawk Valley CC and Schenectady CCC to move ahead.  The women were led by Sara Edenhofer’s 690 triple, followed by Maripat McNally (587) and Ashley Marthage (560).   The women combined to score a total of 2661 pins.

The Men’s team continued to improve as they powered their way to a third place finish with a pin total of 3039.  Herkimer had four men put up 6oo triples on the day, led by Matt Marrotta’s 699 gem.  Also having stellar days were Andrew Pomichter (612), Brett Risi (609), and Anthony DiPierro (605).
