Andy Eggleston ran his record to 5-0 with a complete victory in game 1 of a doubleheader against Niagara. Eggleston allowed 4 hits, 3 walks, and 1 earned run while striking out 1 in the 2-1 victory in game 1. Herkimer got their first run in the second inning as Al Ferenti led off the inning with a base hit then advanced to third on a Chris Massar single. Ferenti then scored on a wild pitch to make it 1-0. Niagara scored their lone run on a bunt play when an over throw of first baseman Chris Massar allowed a runner to score from second base. Herkimer also lost their starting first baseman for the entire weekend on the play as he collided with the NCC runner. Ferenti again scored in the 4th inning on another passed ball. Ferenti led off the inning with a single and advanced to 3rd on a Ty Folli base hit. That was enough for Eggleston as he closed the door the rest of the way to secure the victory. Kris Barone cruised for 6 innings in game 2 as Herkimer scored early and often for an 8-2 victory. Barone went 6 innings while striking out 3 and allowed 4 walks, 3 hits, and 1 unearned run. Al Ferenti was 4-4 in game 2 and 6-7 on the day.
Herkimer dropped a doubleheader to Erie CC on Sunday. Herkimer led 2-0 in game 1 and called to their big right handed closer Wiacek to close the victory but Erie worked a walk and got a base hit to put runners on 2nd and 3rd with two outs. A base hit by cleanup hitter Barrera scored both runs and ran it to extra innings. Erie got two consecutive hits in the 9th with one out to score the winning run. Al Ferenti went 6 innings and allowed 2 walks and 6 hits without a run crossing the plate. Herkimer scored in the first inning on Lee Foxton double later score on a sacrifice ground out by Kris Barone. Herkimer scored in the 6th on a sacrifice fly by Brandon Jones. Herkimer then dropped game two 7-1. Erie led 3-1 before breaking it open in the sixth inning scoring 4 runs. TJ Abounader took the loss allowing 5 runs over 5 innings. ECC ace McFadden limited Herkimer to 5 hits on the windy day.
