Top Seeded Herkimer Baseball Advances to Regional Championships This Weekend

#1 Herkimer 3 - #8 Schenectady 1

Runs were hard to come by on a windy day on the hill of Herkimer CCC.  Herkimer scored their first run in the first inning when Nate Sanzo scored on a passed ball.  With two outs in the 4^th inning George Hajjar would get a 2 RBI single in the 3^rd and SS hole to make the score 3-0.  That would be all Herkimer ace starter Andy Eggleston needed as he worked a complete game with 11 strikeouts, 3 walks, and 5 hits with SCC only run coming in the 6^th inning.  Amar Lewis was 2-4 in the game as Herkimer advances to the Regional Final Four for the 5^th consecutive season.  Herkimer is the current #1 seed and will play the winner of Wednesday's Erie @ Hudson Valley game,  on Friday at Veteran's Memorial Park in Little Falls.
