Herkimer Drop First Game of Season 5-3

Herkimer would take a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning but Allegany would respond with a run in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game 1-1. Allegany would then add 4 runs in the seventh inning to take a 5-1 lead. Herkimer would put the pressure on McNamara, the ACC closer, and plate two runs to close the gap to 5-3 but McNamara got Ron Patterson to fly out for the final out of the game. Allegany moves to 14-2 in DII and Herkimer falls to 3-1 on their southern trip. Herkimer plays DII Essex CC in Baltimore on Wednesday for a 9 inning game.
