New Herkimer CCC President Dr. Ann Marie Murray threw out the first pitch and Herkimer baseball rolled from there, winning both games of a doubleheader vs. Clinton CC. Herkimer starters TJ Abounader and Corey Stapleton combined to throw two shutouts on the day as Herkimer won game one 5-0 and game two 14-0. TJ Abounader pitched a one hitter in game one, pitching 6 innings with 7 K’s and 1 BB. Al Ferenti was 1-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s. In game two Corey Stapleton ran his record to 2-0 with a complete game mercy rule, winning 14-0. Freshman Kris Barone was 2-2 with a SB and 2 RBI’s. The 13th ranked Generals play at Broome CC on Tuesday, then host Onondaga CC on Wednesday, and host Adirondack CC on Friday. All games next week starting at 2:00pm
