Ferenti and Abounader Shutdown Timberwolves in Home Sweep

Herkimer got a strong outing from TJ Abounader as he worked 6 innings allowing 1 earned run on 3 walks and 2 hits, while striking out 10 batters in a 5-1 win against Adirondack CC.  Herkimer had runners on base every inning but couldn't break the door open on crafty lefty Byrdett. Kris Barone led Herkimer with a 2-3 game at the plate with a triple and 2 stolen bases.

Herkimer did not take as long in game two to open the gates as they plated 9 runs in the first inning and 8 in the second to cruise to a 18-0 victory in game two.  Barone was 4-4 in game two as well as catcher Luke Branch.  Proctor teammates Vinny Gaetano and Devin Warmack added 2-3 performances in game two.  Al Ferenti worked 4 innings with 9 strikeouts and allowed 4 hits with no walks.

Herkimer finishes their regular season with a 4 game series against Schenectady starting on Tuesday at SCC then hosting the final two games on Wednesday.  The final series will determine seeding for the Sub-Regional Tournament which will start next Saturday.
