Herkimer Baseball Standout Amar Lewis Signs Baseball Scholarship to Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee
NJCAA Region III 1st Team All Region and Mountain Valley Conference All Star Amar Lewis (Troy, NY) signed a NCAA National Letter of Intent to attend DII Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee for the 2011 season. Lewis who is finishing up his two year career at nationally ranked Herkimer County Community College, was signed to a baseball scholarship by the Railsplitters and will play for Head Baseball Coach Jeff Sziksai. Lewis had an outstanding freshman season at Herkimer hitting .463 in 134 at bats while posting a school record 20 doubles and adding 49 runs batted in. "I am extremely happy for Amar and his family with their choice of continuing his education and playing career at Lincoln Memorial University," stated Head Coach Jason Rathbun.
