Generals earn post-season baseball honors
Herkimer, NY—Herkimer County Community College freshman standout baseball player Tyler Hall (Fonda) was selected to the 1st Team All-Region for the 2011 baseball season. Hall, who batted leadoff for Herkimer and played shortstop in 35 out of 36 games this year, was also selected to the All-Conference team. Hall hit .368 with nine doubles, one home run, and 27 runs batted in.

Senior catcher Matt Gaine (Goshen) was also selected to the All-Conference team, while freshman outfielder Lewis Sebrell (Ashland, OR) was selected to the 2nd Team All-Region.

Sebrell played all 36 games for the Generals and led the team in doubles (11), home runs (4), and runs batted in (39). Sebrell was also selected as team MVP.

Two other Generals were honored at the recent HCCC athletics awards banquet. May 2011 graduate and captain Mike Scotellaro (Utica) received the Academic Achievement Award. Graduate and captain Vinny Gaetano (Utica) received the Hank Testa Coach’s Award.
