2011 baseball grads moving on, update on ’09-’10 Generals

Herkimer, NY – Every sophomore on the 2011 Generals baseball team is moving on to play ball at a four-year college next season.  This story tells where they are going and updates fans on other recent members of the Herkimer Nine.

The second-year players on the recently-ended season’s roster are now headed to the next chapters in their baseball careers.  They’ll be playing for colleges located all along the East Coast.

The continuing careers of ballplayers from the 2009 and 2010 teams have included successes and surprises.   For example, Brett Hauber, who pitched well for the Generals but also played outfield and could hit the long ball, became a full-time pitcher.  Nick Bloom continued to catch balls after leaving Herkimer, but they were footballs rather than baseballs.
