Paul Engelhart

Paul Engelhart joined the HCCC baseball program as an Assistant Coach in 2010. His primary responsibilities are directing the Generals’ offense as their third base coach and working with the hitters and infielders.
Whitesboro native Englehart has been a baseball coach in the Utica area for more than 25 years. Prior to joining HCCC, he spent a number of years in youth baseball followed by two years as the Junior Varsity Head Coach at Utica Notre Dame High School (1996-1997), then 12 years as the top Varsity Assistant Coach at Whitesboro High School (1998-2009), leading the Warriors to six Tri-Valley League titles and a Section III Class A Championship in 2008, Whitesboro's first sectional title since 1974.
Since 1999, "Big Mac" has also been the Manager/Head Coach for the Whitestown Post 1113 American Legion baseball team. With an overall record of 292-150 over his 13 years at the helm, he has led Post 1113 to five Oneida County Division Titles, an Oneida County League Championship (2000), two New York State District V Championships (2007 and 2011), and a New York State Championship (2011). That state championship was the first in the 50-plus years of Whitestown Post's baseball history. It also led to a Runner-Up finish in the Northeast Regional Tournament.
Coach Engelhart has been employed for over 30 years as a Senior Computer Engineer at the Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome. He's a Whitesboro High School graduate (1976) and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from SUNY Cortland (1980), as well as a Master of Science Degree from Syracuse University in Systems Information Sciences (1987). Big Mac also coached High School CYO basketball for St. Paul's Parish in Whitesboro from 1986-2010. In 23 seasons, St. Paul's won over 300 games including 12 Regular Season Titles and seven Tournament Championships.
Coach Engelhart and his wife Doreen reside in Whitesboro. They have three children (Jason, Shannon, and Allison) and two granddaughters (Makenna and Shea).
