Herkimer baseball offers you the opportunity to begin your college education and play baseball in a program that promises maximum exposure to four-year universities and professional scouts, and an immediate chance to play in your freshman year. The program is arranged in three seasons to keep our student athletes competing at the top level in the classroom and on the field. Herkimer baseball begins the day you walk on campus. Fall baseball includes preseason tournaments against outside competition, intra-squad scrimmages, daily practice fundamentals, plyometric conditioning, mental preparation, and our Blood Bowl Series. Fall baseball is an important part of the evaluation for the spring season. Winter is the off season in which the program focuses on weight training. Winter is important for growth and strength conditioning for the spring season, and utilizes our strength and conditioning coach for maximum training.
Our annual spring trip in March kicks off our spring competition. The spring season has a 40-game schedule versus Mountain Valley Conference teams, NJCAA Region III teams and competition from outside the region against top Division I and II teams. The Region III record determines seeding for tournament play, with the chance to advance to the NJCAA Division III World Series. Please review the rest of the website, including the baseball history page, to learn more about our program.

BASEBALL FIELD
Herkimer has one of the top on-campus baseball facilities in the state of New York. The completely fenced-in ballpark has dimensions of 330 feet down the left field line, 320 feet down the right field line, and 400 feet to center field. The field has a southern ballpark feel to it with grassed-in baselines from home plate to first base and from home to third. The home and away dugouts have turfed flooring and are open-faced. A small fence in front of the dugout allows players to be closer to the action on the field. The ballpark also features home and away bullpens, an outdoor batting cage, scoreboard, and an infield tarp to keep the field ready to play in case of bad weather. In the fall of 2010, Herkimer added a home plate halo, another feature that keeps the field looking modern and attractive. The sound of music playing from the press box gets the students out of their dorm rooms and to the field, which creates a great atmosphere for playing ball.
