Generals Upset in Opening Round of Regionals

The HCCC men, the third seed in the Region III tourney, lost their opening round game to Finger Lakes Community College, 63-44 Friday evening at Jefferson Community College. The Generals shot only 20% from the field en route to only their sixth loss of the season. Rhamel Williams led the team with 10 points while All-Region players Kevin Kucel and Akeem Ellis scored nine each.

Herkimer finished their season at 25-6 and failed to advance to the Regional final for the first time in four years. They lose only Kucel and senior Steve Campbell to graduation and expect to have another strong campaign in 2009-10
