Herkimer All Over Timberwolves in Victory
The men's basketball team continued their winning ways with a 92-74 victory over Mountain Valley Conference rival Adirondack Community College last night in Herkimer. The Generals received outstanding efforts from all four of their leading scorers as each registered a double double. Freshman Cliff Brown lead the way with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Akeem Ellis had his eighth double double in a row with 16 points and 12 rebounds and Rhamel Williams returned to the lineup after sitting out with a leg injury Monday and added 18 points and 10 rebounds. Senior co-captain Kevin Kucel had 14 points and 12 assists to pace the balanced scoring that also included Reggie German with nine and Justin Poirier with seven. Kucel leads Region III in assists and Ellis is 5th in the country in rebounding.
The victory ran the Generals' overall record to 22-5 heading into the last week of the regular season, good for 6th in the nation in the latest NJCAA poll. The men return to action Tuesday against arch rival Mohawk Valley Community College at 7:00 p.m. in Herkimer
