Herkimer Ends Regular Season With Win; Campbell and Kucel Honored

The HCCC men concluded the regular season portion of their schedule with a 79-53 victory over Clinton Community College Saturday afternoon in Herkimer. The Generals were led by Steve Campbell's 14 points and 10 rebounds and Kevin Kucel's 11 assists. Both played their final home game after stellar careers on the court and in the classroom. Rhamel Williams paced the team with 19 points and 10 rebounds and Cliff Brown added 17 points and 10 rebounds. Akeem Ellis chipped in with 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Herkimer raised its record to 25-5 in Region III and 14-2 in the Mountain Valley Conference, both good for second place finishes. They are currently ranked 5th in the NJCAA nationwide poll and open up Regional play at Watertown on Friday night. Seedings and game times will be determined Sunday evening.
