Generals Can't Be Stopped; Ranked #5 in the Nation
The HCCC men's basketball team continued their torrid play with a 68-52 win over Mountain Valley Conference rival Fulton-Montgomery Community College last night in Johnstown. The Generals were paced by Rhamel Williams with 22 points and 10 rebounds, Kevin Kucel with 14 points and eight assists and Cliff Brown with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Akeem Ellis' double double streak was broken but he still managed eight points and 11 rebounds. The team combined for a season high of 30 assists.
Herkimer, ranked #5 in the country in the latest NJCAA poll, ran their overall record to 24-5, 13-2 in the conference. They have won 16 of the last 17 games including eight in a row. They conclude their regular season on Saturday against Clinton Community College at 2:00 p.m. They will host Senior Day for their two graduating players, co-captains Kevin Kucel and Steve Campbell.
