Generals Over Power Struggling Hawks

Men's Basketball continued their winning ways with an easy 81-46 victory over rival Mohawk Valley Community College in Herkimer last night. The Generals were led by Akeem Ellis with 14 points and 10 rebounds for his ninth double double in a row. T.J. Abounader and Justin Poirier came off of the bench to score 15 and 9 points respectively and contributed strong defense in limiting MVCC to its lowest output of the season. Cliff Brown added 14 points before fouling out midway through the second half and Kevin Kucel contributed eight points and 10 assists as he extended his Region III lead in assists. Rhamel Williams held All-Region forward Alex Prue to three points.

The victory extended the Generals winning streak to six in a row and 15 out of their last 16. They are currently ranked #6 in the nation pending the new NJCAA poll due out later today and improved their overall record to 23-5, 12-2 in the Mountain Valley Conference. They return to action Thursday at Fulton Montgomery Community College at 7:00 p.m. before completing the regular season portion of their schedule on Saturday at home against Clinton C.C. at 2:00 p.m
