Herkimer Basketball Wins 20th Game of the Season

The men improved their record to 20-5 with a resounding 85-52 victory over Onondaga Community College last night in Herkimer. The Generals who lead 41-17 at the half, were paced by Akeem Ellis with 17 points and 15 rebounds and T.J. Abounader with 17 points and 10 rebounds---both career highs for T.J. Rhamel Williams had 12 points and Cliff Brown had 11 to pace a well-balanced Herkimer attack that saw 10 players hit the scoring column. Kevin Kucel extended his Region III assist lead with nine. Justin Poirier had five steals.

The Generals, winners of 12 of their last 13 games, return to action Monday night with a home game against Columbia Greene Community College at 6:00 p.m. The victory extended the Generals 20 game win seasons to four in a row under head coach Matt Lee. They are currently ranked #8 in the country in the latest NJCAA poll.
