Herkimer Men's Basketball Wins Region III Championship; Ellis MVP Of Tournament

The Herkimer Generals men's basketball team won the Region III championship this afternoon in double overtime by a score of 82-72.  Akeem Ellis was named tournament MVP as he led the Generals with 21 points and 9 rebounds.  Cliff Brown chipped in 18 points as he was named to the all-tournament team. 

The win advances the Generals to the NJCAA Division III National Championship at SUNY Delhi.  Their first round game will take place on Thursday, March 11th beginning at 8:00 pm as they will face District 2 winner Joliet College of Illinois.  The win was Herkimer's 31st of the season.
