Ellis Leads Herkimer Men's Basketball To Region III Championship Game; Sunday At 1:00 pm

The Herkimer men's basketball team trailed by two points at halftime, but were able to come back and win 59-52 over Hudson Valley CC.

Akeem Ellis led all scorers with 20 points and 11 rebounds, Ian Austin-Michaud added 5 points and 6 rebounds to help the Generals to the Region III championship game tomorrow at 1:00 pm. Herkimer will face local rival Mohawk Valley CC in the finals.

Herkimer shot 38 percent from the field, but it was the key buckets and tough defense in the second half that propelled the Generals. The win was the 30th win of the season for Herkimer.
