Herkimer Men's Basketball Rolls In Season Opener; Four Players Score Double Figures

The Herkimer men's basketball team opened their season with a 113-63 victory over Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference rival Schenectady County Community College Wednesday evening at Union College.  The Generals were paced by preseason All-American, Akeem Ellis with 14 points and seven assists, returning All-Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference Team player Rhamel Williams with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and returning All-Region III Team player Ian Austin-Michaud with 12 points and 10 rebounds.  Cliff Brown also added 17 points.  The Generals had nine players that scored at least seven points in their balanced scoring effort. 

Herkimer takes on Adirondack Community College in Glen Falls on Friday at 6:00 p.m. in another Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference contest.  They open at home on Tuesday, November 10 against arch rival Hudson Valley Community College when they will honor the American Cancer Society and culminate Breast Cancer Awareness month.  The festivities begin at 7:45 pm.
