Herkimer Men's Basketball Sprints To Victory ; Ellis, Michaud, Williams Each Record Double-Double

The HCCC men's basketball team stormed out to a 22-2 lead in the first seven minutes and were never headed as they defeated Cayuga County Community College 77-44 last night in Auburn.

Akeem Ellis {14 points and 17 rebounds, 6 assists}, Ian Austin-Michaud {10 points and 12 rebounds, 5 steals}, and Rhamel Williams {16 points and 11 rebounds, 2 steals} all posted double doubles to lead the attack.  Cliff Brown added three steals to lead the defensive effort and hit a clutch 3 point basket to stop Cayuga's early second half run.

The victory extended the General's winning streak to 23 games and ran their record to 23-2.  They lead Region III and are #3 in the nation.  The win ends a difficult stretch of seven games in 13 days for HCCC, with the last five games away contests.  The men return home to face conference rival Adirondack Community College on Friday at 6:00
