Herkimer Men's Basketball Preys on Saints In First Round Of Regionals; Will Face Hudson Valley at 1pm Saturday

The Herkimer men's basketball team wasted no time in sending a message to the rest of the region that they are here to win. The Generals posted a 105-43 victory over the North Country Saints in the first round of the Region III championship tournament.

Akeem Ellis led the Generals with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Rhamel Williams added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Jerone Floyd, Cliff Brown and Reggie German all added double digit points with 10 points, 11 points and 10 points respectively. Herkimer shot 55 percent overall and 40% from beyond the 3 point arc.

The Generals will next face #4 Hudson Valley tomorrow at 1:00 pm. The win improves the Generals to 29-2 overall on the season.
