REGION III CHAMPIONSHIPS
1987, 1988 1989, 1991, 2010
The HCCC Men's basketball program has been very successful over the past three seasons compiling a 73-24 overall record which includes a 6-3 Region III playoff record. They have been the Region III runners-up each of those seasons and were the Mountain Valley Conference champs in 2007. The Generals have finished the last two seasons ranked #6 in the nation for Division III NJCAA basketball. The program has produced many student-athletes that have played at all levels of basketball in the NCAA and the NAIA. Several players have earned All-Region and All-Mountain Valley Conference honors. In the 2007-2008 campaign, Robby Marshall was the runner-up player of the year and a first team All-American.
The basketball season is the longest of all college sports. Commitment begins on the first day of the fall semester and runs through March. The season concludes with the Region III all-star game and slam dunk competition hosted by Herkimer each year. The schedule includes three pre-season games, 30 regular season games, and the Region III and National Championship playoffs. The schedule routinely includes games against the top Division II and Division III teams in the country. HCCC has faced the #1 ranked NJCAA team in the country in each of the past four years.
Team members are expected to maintain high standards in the classroom and be involved in the community. The team sponsors Disability Awareness Week events in October, Breast Cancer Awareness month in November and decorates the Herkimer village park for the holidays in December. They sponsor high school boys' and girls' basketball games on campus in January and a high school summer league and Basketball Camp for kids in June and July.
Tryouts are held in early October for all men interested in maintaining good grades, being good citizens and good teammates, and becoming part of a special program both on and off the court.

MAIN GYMNASIUM
The Main Gymnasium at Herkimer County Community College is one of the top gymnasiums in Region III. We play our home Basketball and Volleyball contests here. The intimate setting and favorable acoustics is what make the main gym a true home court advantage. The main gym is also the primary gymnasium for our Physical Education classes. We also hold many high school contests and community events in the Varsity Gym. These events include high school sectional playoffs games, wrestling and karate tournaments along with musical bands. The main gym prides is self on hosting Herkimer County Community College's annual commencement. The main gym holds a capacity of just under 2000 people.
