Generals Down #3 Howard CC
The Herkimer Men's lacrosse team traveled to Baltimore, Maryland
during spring break to play two nationally ranked opponents. The
Generals defeated #3 in the nation Howard CC 18-11.
Herkimer's goalie Danny Solazzo finished the day with 17 saves and
freshman Bentray Reed had 4 saves.
The Generals' offense played a complete game keeping the ball
headed up field towards Howard's goalies all day. This began with
the outstanding face off domination Herkimer had all day. Freshman
Zeppy O'Geen won 14 face offs and lost only 5, while fellow
freshman midfielder Christian Quinn won 6 and lost only 2. Spencer
Smith split with winning 1 and losing 1. Herkimer's offense was led
by JP Finn who had a busy day with 4 goals and 5 assists while
fellow captains Doug Hoch finished with 4 goals and 4 assists with
David Limbouris having a huge day with 6 goals and 1 assist. First
line midfielder Tom Szevin had a very unselfish day with 1 goal and
4 assists. Freshman A.J. Vittorio had 2 goals and 1 assist.
Herkimer is now 2 - 1 overall and looks to improve on their record
on Saturday when they play at CCBC Essex beginning at 3pm. Also
Herkimer plays at home on Saturday March 28th against region 3
opponent Alfred State at 1pm.
