Herkimer Defeats Monroe

Herkimer Men's Lacrosse wins 13 - 9 over Monroe C.C.

In a Region 3 game that was played in some of the worst weather conditions seen so far this season the Herkimer Men's Lacrosse team played strong to come out on top.

Herkimer's defense was on top of their game all day. Led by sophomore goalie Dan Solazzo who finished the day with 29 saves and freshman goalie Bentray Reed had 3 saves. The Herkimer defense dominated Monroe's offense and did not allow a single goal to be scored while Monroe had the man advantage.

The offense was sparked early by JP Finn, who finished the game with 4 goals and 3 assists. Herkimer attackmen Doug Hoch and Dan Lawson both finished the day with 5 points each and Freshman AJ Vittorio had 2 goals and 1 assist. Jeff Seager scored 3 goals early in the fourth quarter and David Limbouris and Tom Szevin both added one assist a piece for the Generals.

Herkimer's overall record is 5 - 1 and 3 - 0 in Region 3. The Generals face Fingerlakes C.C. at home, on Monday April 6th at 6pm. On Tuesday April 7th the Generals are at home, facing Mohawk Valley C.C. at 6pm in Wehrum stadium. On Saturday April 11th at 1pm, the Generals face off against Region 3 rival Onondaga C.C. at home.
