Herkimer Men's Soccer Slides By With Win; Advances To Region III Semi Final Game Versus Tompkins Cortland CC
The Herkimer men's soccer team got past Alfred State in the quarter Final game this evening at Wehrum Stadium by a score of 1-0. Freshman Gustavo Pereira scored the game winning goal in the 58thminute off an assist from Mike Roopchansingh. The Generals missed several scoring opportunities and outshot Alfred State 15-0. Alfred goalkeeper Daniel Krajeir was credited with 9 saves. The Generals now advance to the Region III Final four where they will take on host Tompkins-Cortland CC. The Panthers upset #4 Broome CC 3-2 to advance. Kick-off is at noon on Saturday.
