Herkimer Men's Soccer Host Breast Cancer Awareness; Wins Via Forfeit After Game

The Herkimer men's team hosted a "Breast Cancer Awareness Night" for their game against Onondaga CC.  The Generals wore pink jerseys that were donated by Impressions Now in Herkimer.  $1.00 donation cards were sold at the game to help support the local American Cancer Society.  Unfortunately Herkimer lost 1-0 on Justin Barber's goal in the 20thminute in the first half. The Lazers Matt Cavanaugh served a ball in off a restart from 35 yards out for the assist.  The Generals outshot Onondaga 19 to 3 but were unable to score for the second straight game.  Herkimer host Montgomery College-Rockville  (MD) Saturday.

NOTE:  Onondaga Community College announced Friday that it would forfeit contests in four sports after being notified that it had violated NJCAA regulations by failing to submit fall eligibility forms on time and failing to ensure that all student-athletes were enrolled full time at the start of the semester.

Among the contests forfeited by the Lazers was a 1-0 men's soccer victory at Wehrum Stadium Oct. 8 against the Generals. That match now goes in the books as a Herkimer victory and leaves the Generals unbeaten within Region III.
