Herkimer Softball Drops Two Games

The Herkimer Generals softball team dropped a pair of Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference games to local rival Mohawk Valley by the scores of 13-0 and 7-1.

In the opener, the Generals bats couldn't get anything going against MV pitcher Jaymie Rosati, who gave up just one hit while striking out 8. That coupled with 7 errors doomed the Generals. Krista Stubba recorded the lone hit for the Generals with a double, breaking up Rosati's no-hit bid in the 5th inning.

Game two didn't prove to be much better for the Generals offense as they once again faced Rosati. This time they could only muster 3 hits while pushing one run across. Generals offense was led by Amber Swanston with a double while Krista Stubba and Emily Woudenberg contributed base hits The loss drops the Generals to 6-6 overall, 5-3 Reg III and 0-2 in MVC.

They will next play Hudson Valley this Saturday afternoon before returning home vs Alfred State on Sunday for a 1pm start.
