Herkimer Softball Comes Back to Win A Pair On The Road

The Herkimer Generals kept up their winning ways Tuesday afternoon as they swept a Region III doubleheader from Jefferson CC in Watertown, NY. The first game the Generals battled back from an 8-4 deficit in the 6th to win 14-10. Leading the Generals offense was Kayla Ladd (3-5, 2rbi's) Amber Swanston (4-5, 2b, 3b, rbi) Misty Mathis (3-5, 2b, 3rbi's) Emily Douglas (3-5, 2rbi's) Chelsey Fancett (3-5, 2 2b) and Krista Stubba with 2 rbi's. Courtney Hibbard picked up the victory on the mound improving her record to 11-6 on the season.

Game two was more of the same for Herkimer as they got down early to the Cannoneers but battled back to win 8-2. The Generlas got a much needed lift on the mound as Sophomore standout Kayla Wallenhorst returned to the mound after missing the last 14 games due to injury. She picked up her 6th win of the year after getting the save in the first game. She gave up 4 hits in 7 innings giving up only 2 unearned runs. Leading offensive attack for Herkimer was Amber Swanston who hit her 7th HR of the season. Chelsey Muscatello(2-4, 2 2b, 3rbi's) and Lindsay Johnson (2-3, 2b, 2rbi's) also recorded multi-hit games.

Generals will take on Columbia Greene this Thursday at home. First Pitch is slated for 3pm.
