Title: Assistant Coach Softball

Dan Stalteri joined the Herkimer Softball staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2010. He had been a consulting assistant to Head Coach PJ Anadio during the 2010 spring season. Stalteri helps round out an excellent coaching staff with emphasis on the hitting game and defensive specialties. He also shares bench coaching duties with Assistant Coach Amy Dommer. 

Stalteri adds over ten years of softball coaching experience, from youth levels to Varsity Head Coach at Herkimer High School. He had served as Varsity Assistant Coach for the past three seasons while doing previous stints assisting at the JV and Modified levels. Dan has been the Herkimer U18 softball coach for the past three years and U16 softball coach for the past eight seasons. He also served as president of the Herkimer Girls Softball League from 2005 to 2010. 

Coach Stalteri graduated from Herkimer High in 1983, having played three seasons of varsity baseball. His teams won two divisional championships and a Section III title. He has an associate’s degree from HCCC and a bachelor’s from Utica College of Syracuse University. Dan is employed by Hummel’s Office Equipment Company as the Vice President of Furniture. 

Coach Stalteri resides in Herkimer with his wife Marianne. He is also the proud father of two daughters, both former softball players: Kahley who is attending St. John Fisher College in Rochester, and Emily who is currently attending Utica College.
