Herkimer Swimming and Diving compete at Monroe Invitational
Rochester, NY - The Herkimer Generals Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving team had a successful weekend at the Monroe Community College Invitational in Rochester, NY. The Generals had 42 individual season-best times, six relay season-best times, and 13 National Qualifying times during the three day event.
The women, who tallied a third place finish in the event, were led by senior Emily Washburn (Rock Hill, SC), who won the 100 fly and had a third place finish in the 200 BA and a fourth place finish in the 500 FR. Erica Francis (Akwesasne, Ontario) netted a second place finish in the 50 FR and a fifth place finish in the 100 BA. Washburn and Francis were also part of four relay teams that received points for Herkimer on the weekend.
Geoff Fryer (Ravena, NY) led the men's fifth place finish on the weekend with a third place and fourth place finish in the 200 Fly and 100 Fly respectively. Nicholas Streeter (Pine Bush, NY) and Creighton Joscelyn (Palatine Bridge, NY) joined Fryer on four relay teams that obtained points for the Generals.
Herkimer next takes to the pool on Saturday, December 17th when they travel to Buffalo, NY to take part in the Erie CC Invitational.
