Generals swim and dive well at Erie CC meet
Buffalo, NY – The HCCC men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams competed in the Erie CC meet on Saturday. The Lady Generals earned a third-place finish in a field of seven teams.

Highlights of the meet include the following:
Senior Emily Washburn broke her own school record in the 200 yard backstroke with a new time of 2:22.27.
Freshman Sylvia Ross competed in 3 meter diving for the first time in her college career, setting new Herkimer marks in the process.
Eleven Generals swam to personal-best times in the event:
Sarah Ledwith - 1650 yard freestyle, dropped another 20 seconds off her previous best time
Amanda Knox - 200 yard freestyle, dropped 4 seconds off her previous best time
Geoff Fryer - 200 yard freestyle, dropped a second off his previous best time
Bryan Jester - 200 yard freestyle, dropped 3 seconds off his previous best time
Greg Valachovic - 50 yard freestyle, best time; 100 yard freestyle, dropped 4 seconds off his previous best time
Creighton Joscelyn - 100 yard freestyle, dropped 4 seconds off his previous best time; 200 yard breaststroke, 6 seconds off his previous best time
Emily Washburn - 200 yard backstroke, dropped 1 second off her previous best time
Luciano Reyes - 200 yard backstroke, dropped 17 seconds off his previous best time
Rachel Rees - 200 yard butterfly, dropped 7 seconds off her previous best time
