Fox and King Named to Post Season Honors
Samantha Fox, a 6'3" freshman center at Herkimer County Community College was recently named third team all Region III and First Team all Mountain Valley Conference. The former Cooperstown standout led Herkimer to a 14-13 record this past season and the team finished the year seeded sixth in the Regional Championship Tournament. Fox led the team in scoring 14 points, 13.7 rebounds, 4.8 blocked shots per game and field goal percentage 46.9%. She was among the national leaders in rebounding (5th) and blocked shots (3rd). "Sam had an outstanding freshman season and she consistently performed well this past year" commented Coach John Campagna. "She led a very young team that improved every game and we are looking to build on our success for next year" added Campagna.
Elizabeth King was recently named to the third team All Mountain Valley Conference. King, a 5'9" freshman forward from Camden was a complete player averaging 9.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists per game and was the teams' leading free throw percentage leader at 70.8% The Generals finished second in the Mountain Valley Conference with an 11-3 record and King was a difference maker this past season. "Elizabeth is a tough competitor who can beat you in many ways" said Coach John Campagna. "She has a great mid range jump shot and is very creative with her dribble penetration".
