Fox Named Region III Female Athlete of the Week

Herkimer County Community College women's basketball player Samantha Fox (Cooperstown, NY) was named NJCAA Region III Female Athlete of the Week.

A 6'3" freshman center majoring in Childhood Education, Fox led Herkimer to three wins this week over Fulton-Montgomery Community College, Adirondack Community College, and Clinton Community College. Her stats for the week tallied 53 points, 53 rebounds and 16 blocked shots. She was 21 for 33 in her field goal attempts and 11 for 15 from the foul line.

"Sam is one of the top players in our region and she is a big reason for our team success," said coach John Campagna.

Fox is ranked third nationally in blocked shots (5.3) per game and is fifth in rebounding (14.6 rebounds per game). She leads the team in scoring at 14.8 points per game and field goal percentage (48.2%).
