John Campagna is entering his 21st year as head coach of the women's basketball team. Campagna has posted the most wins in Region III women's basketball history with 384 wins over the past 20 years. His teams have been successful off the court as well and since 1992, 90 percent of the women's basketball players have graduated or successfully transferred to four year institutions.

Campagna works in the Athletic Department as a student-athlete specialist and is responsible for tracking and monitoring student athlete academic success. He developed a system which allows communication between teaching faculty, coaches and athletes throughout the academic year. HCCC has earned a prestigious record of 28 Academic Team of The Year Awards and has had over 170 players named Academic All-Americans in a variety of sports since 1991.

Babcock, Jim



Jim Babcock
Title: Assistant Coach Women's Basketball

Jim Babcock is an assistant coach for the women's basketball team. He taught physical education (K-12) to boys and girls in the Frankfort-Schuyler Central School District for over 30 years. At Frankfort-Schuyler he coached boys varsity basketball, varsity track and varsity baseball, helped pioneer the school's soccer program and served as athletic director. He was an assistant women's basketball coach at Utica College for four seasons.

Babcock is a former NJCAA All-American at Rockland Community College. In his second year there, he broke the school's single season scoring record. Having scored 40+ points in several games as a student athlete there, his jersey has been retired at Rockland CC.Babcock later played for Eastern Montana College, where he helped guide the Yellow Jackets to the NCAA Tournament two years in a row. Babcock was inducted into the Rockland Community College Sports Hall of Fame in January 2008.

Babcock is a graduate of Eastern Montana College in Billings, MT, and he received his masters degree in health, physical education, and recreation from Cortland State University.
