Women’s lacrosse rolls over Erie, preps for Regionals
Herkimer, NY – The Generals finished their regular season with a convincing win over Erie CC 16-4 on Wednesday. Now the team will focus on their Region III tournament game with Onondaga on Saturday.
The conditions were cold and wet at game time, but the HCCC squad rose to meet those challenges and played a strong game. Goaltender Betheny Jennings (pictured, in recent action) had an outstanding game. She held Erie scoreless in the second half, and even stopped two breakaways.
Katie McGovern continued to show that she’s a top-flight player. She used her speed and stick skills to move through Erie’s defense throughout the game. McGovern netted six of the Generals’ goals.
Michelle Varney and Danielle Hulslander each scored three goals, and they assisted on seven goals between them.
