Herkimer Women's Soccer Uses Head In Win; Signor Scores Lone Goal

The Lady Generals were back in team form tonight with a 1-0 victory over regional opponent Tompkins Cortland Community College.  The first half of regulation proved to be a battle back and forth in midfield that ended with a 0-0 tie at halftime.  After a few attacks on goal in the second half, Herkimer finally got a goal past the Panther's keeper at 21:35 in the second half.  Freshman Ashleigh Tracy took control of the ball in the corner and made a beautiful cross in front of the net where Samantha Signor was waiting.  Signor timed her jump perfectly and headed the ball into the net giving the Generals the lead.  This proved to be the game winner as Herkimer extends it's record to 14-3 overall. Amber Swanston had a great night in goal with 11 saves for HCCC. The Lady Generals play again on Friday at Bryant and Stratton and then has it's home closer next Tuesday against Genesee CC at 3 pm.
