Herkimer Women's Soccer Wins Final Regular Season Game; Scerra And Stubba Provide the Goals

The Lady Generals hosted Genesee CC in their last regular season match up tonight at Wehrum Stadium.  Herkimer came out with a 2-0 victory and clinched the top seed in the Regional Tournament that is set to begin this Saturday.  After a scoreless first half, Herkimer's Maria Scerra scored the first goal off an assist from Ashleigh Tracy just 5 minutes into the second half.  Scerra then assisted the General's second goal as she chipped the ball towards the net and Krista Stubba followed it in and knocked the ball past the keeper. Amber Swanston had a great night in goal for Herkimer with 7 saves as she posted her ninth shutout of the season. Herkimer is now 15-4 overall and will host a Regional semi-final game next Tuesday with the opponent to be determined.
