Three In A Row For Herkimer Women's Soccer; Scerra Scores Twice In The Victory
The Herkimer women's soccer team continued their hot streak, by beating Hudson Valley CC on the road by a score of 3-1. The Lady Generals were on the road today playing Region III competitor Hudson Valley CC (1-1). Maria Scerra opened the scoring for the Generals off of an assist from Melissa McGough at the 22 minute mark. Exactly one minute later Scerra scored again off of a through pass from freshman Ashleigh Tracy who finished the game with one goal and one assist. Sophomore goalie Amber Swanston posted a shutout going into the second half. Twenty minutes into the second half, Ashleigh Tracy found herself one on one with the goalie off of a pass from Maria Scerra and scored the third goal of the game. Ten minutes later Hudson Valley answered back, scoring their only goal of the game. Their was also strong offensive and defensive support that went in to the Generals win by Krista Stubba, Daciann Walker and Sam Signor.
With this win the Generals remain undefeated and move to 3 - 0 overall. The Herkimer women are on the road again on Sunday September 6th at Plattsburg State against Clinton CC at 2pm.
