Herkimer Women's Soccer Rolls to Six In A Row; Remain Unbeaten
The Lady Generals kept their streak alive with a 2-1 Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference and Region III win tonight over Fulton Montgomery CC. Local freshman, Dana Pohlig, from Herkimer, scored her first collegiate goal to open the scoring at the 17 minute mark of the game. Fellow freshman teammate, Ashleigh Tracy assisted Pohlig on the play. FMCC was able to tie the game just 13 minutes later. Herkimer was quick to respond as Krista Stubba, from Poland, found Ashleigh Tracy heading across the field and shot the ball high in the corner for what turned out to be the winning goal. Both teams battled through the second half to remain tied. Outstanding effort was spread across the field for the Lady Generals as they remain undefeated at 6-0-0 in Region III. Herkimer will be on the road on next Tuesday to play defending national champions Broome CC.
