Eight Is Great; Women's Soccer Remains Undefeated With Win Over #3 Lakers

For the second time this week the Herkimer women's soccer team has upset one of the top three ranked teams in the nation.  The Herkimer Generals kept things rolling tonight with a 2-0 win over Region 3 competitor Finger Lakes CC.  After a scoreless first half, Herkimer got on the board two minutes into the second half when Dana Pohlig get a pass from Amanda Peek and found the back of the net.  The Generals extended their lead with 18 minutes to play as Pohlig assisted Ashleigh Tracy, who took a 35 yard shot and hit the upper corner of the net.  Amber Swanston had an amazing night in goal with 20 saves throughout the game.  Herkimer will play again at home next Tuesday against Delhi at 5 pm.
