Herkimer Women's Soccer Has Four Named to All Conference; Scerra Named Conference Player of the Year, Dommer Named Conference Coach of the Year

The Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference recently announced their 2009 All Conference awards.  Herkimer County Community College women's soccer coach Amy Dommer of Herkimer was named Coach of the Year. Maria Scerra, a sophomore striker from Saratoga, was named Player of the Year.  Four players were named to the Mountain Valley All Conference Team. Freshman Ashley Tracy, a midfielder from Cobleskill, Melissa McGough, a freshman defender from Remsen, and sophomore Amber Swanston, a goalie from Burke, join Scerra as members of the 2009 All Conference Team.

The team is 15-4 overall and 5-1 in the Mountain Valley Conference. Their next game will be played in the regional quarterfinals on Tuesday, October 27  beginning at 4 pm at Wehrum Stadium. 

NOTE:  This is the fifth straight season Herkimer women's soccer has been the recipient of the Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference Player of the Year.
